Penn State baseball blown out by high-scoring nonconference opponent Navy

After Saturday afternoon’s game was canceled due to weather, 21-19 Penn State only had one shot to take on 25-20 Navy on Sunday.

The Nittany Lions allowed six runs in the fourth inning, losing to Navy 9-1.

Navy’s starting pitcher, Tyler Grenn, started the game nicely, striking out the first batter he faced. J.T. Marr got to first on a walk and stole second during Adam Cecere’s at-bat. However, he was left stranded there after Cecere was struck out and Bobby Marsh flew out to right field.

Much like the Nittany Lions, the Midshipmen threatened with their second batter of the half but were retired with their fourth at-bat.
