Coming into this season, there were some questions as to whether or not former number one pick Henry Davis was ready to take over at catcher. The Pirates had their own questions, bringing in veteran Yasmani Grandal, who seemed primed to start to begin the season as the starter before being diagnosed with the itis (plantas fasciitis).
